House H
The old ‘Kempisch’ farmhouse is situated in a historical craftmanship site in Turnhout, a remaining farmhouse of a sequence thread and linen washing-bleaching houses, implanted next to the Aa. The pure water coming from the moor pools was utmost adequate for this manufacture.
The farmhouse was restored completely and refurnished as a holiday home.
With respect for the existing architecture and Flemish craftmanship the historical elements were preserved and region-specific materials were used for restoration. The back façade was redrawn with open views to the landscape and provided with shutters for a flexible intimacy.
